According to news on November 27, Korean media DealSite reported that Samsung Electronics is promoting the acquisition of LG Display’s (LGD) Guangzhou liquid crystal display (LCD) factory through a Chinese panel manufacturer. Some experts believe that Samsung Electronics’ main TV business is QLED TVs based on LCD panels, and it strives to maintain high-quality LCD panel suppliers.

LG Display is expected to ship 12 million liquid crystal (LCD) TV panels next year, of which 9 million will be shipped to Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, while Sales to Samsung Electronics are expected to exceed those of LG Electronics.

According to industry reports on the 12th, China Skyworth expressed its intention to acquire LGD’s Guangzhou factory and promoted specific negotiations, but ultimately failed.

LG no longer plans to sell the LCD panel factory in Guangzhou, and plans to restart it and restore 100% production capacity.
